Automotion Dance Team To Hold Auditions On Monday, July 26
New LIVE Performance Element Added To Audition Process
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Detroit Pistons dance team Automotion will be hosting auditions for team members for the 2010-11 season on Monday, July 26th beginning promptly at 3:00 p.m. at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Finalists will be announced at the end of the night and callbacks will take place July 27-29.
New to this year’s audition process will be the addition of a LIVE performance held on July 29th at the Crowfoot Ballroom located in downtown Pontiac, sponsored by WRIF radio. All finalists are required to participate in rehearsals and perform in the live Automotion audition finals show in order to be considered for the team. The announcement of the final team will take place LIVE at the end of the show. Friends and family are welcomed and encouraged to be a part of the audience. The live Automotion audition finals will be open to the public and additional details will be released at a later date.
To audition, female candidates must be 19 or older by October 1, 2010 and are required to show proof of ID along with their registration. There is a $25.00 registration fee. The fee includes the auditions and a ticket to a select Pistons game during the 2010-11 season. Candidates are required to bring a recent photo and are encouraged to bring a business/entertainment resume. Aspiring Automotion dancers should have a strong work ethic and strong business and communication skills as a complement to their dancing abilities.
Choreography will be provided by the audition staff and dancers are encouraged to wear dance tops, shorts and tights – dressed to impress with performance-ready hair and makeup.
Automotion members will serve as ambassadors of the Detroit Pistons and will represent the organization both on and off the court for the 2010-11 season. Automotion team members are required to dance during every Pistons home game and to represent the organization throughout the year at various team and charity functions. A flexible schedule is a must for selected dancers.
